One day Fay was working in her flower garden and a lady bug crawled up her arm. Fay took a break from weeding and sat watching the beatle as it crawled into her hand. She admired the cute little bug for several minutes and then got bored with it so she sang "Ladybug ladybug fly away home.." then she brushed off the bug and got back to weeding. This time she smiled as she weeded because that little interlude with nature reminded her of how good God is. Even when far from home God is very near. In fact he sends lots of pretty little things for you to see. And if you look around you will see the beauty and the awesomeness of nature. And if you are one of the heirs you will know in your heart that the creator is even greater than the creation.
That afternoon Fay was out shopping and stopped in at a garden shop to find somthing to decorate her garden with. She got a few stepping stones and an attachment for the hose so water would spray out a turtles back. Then she noticed some molds to make different garden statues. She chose one that would make a ladybug fairy sitting on a basket ball. She took it home and mixed up plaster and put it in the mold. The next day she broke the mold open and saw her little garden statuette. She painted it white and when that was dry she painted 2 red stripes on the fairy's dress. She gave her brown hair and blushing red cheeks. Then she painted the 2 ladybugs orange. When that was dry she added the black dots. She left the basketball white to go better with her flower garden. The next day the statuette was dry and ready to put in the garden but it was raining so she left it inside. It was in the way on the table so she put it by the back door where she left it for several months and sometimes used it for a door stop when she brought the laundry out to hang on the line. Soon the summer was over and she never did put that thing in the garden. One day she stubbed her toe on it while letting the dog out, so she put it up on the shelf over the washing machine. And there is sat for 8 years until she met a new friend and wanted to bring the friend to a christmas party with some church friends. It was a gift giving occasion and there was no gift for the new friend so Fay put a ribbon around the fairy and gave it to her friend for Christmas. Finally she would be rid of it. Not that there was anything wrong with it but it was just taking up space and had no practical use nor was it really all that pretty to look at. And oh by the way the friend would be moving away soon and taking it with her. Probly end up as a gift to someone else who doesn't know what to do with it. But that's ok. That's what friends are for -- to take a little piece of our lives when they move away and pass it on to someone else. Thats just to show that somehow or another we on this earth are all connected to each other.
